Fight Cancer Foundation’s Footy Colours Day

The Ballarat Surgicentre is again taking part in the Fight Cancer Foundation’s Footy Colours Day to raise funds to help kids with cancer.

From Monday 13th of September to Thursday 23rd of September we will be wearing our footy colours in support of Kids with Cancer.

Feel free to show your support by wearing your footy colours to your appointments.

We will be collecting donations in reception for this worthy cause. Our goal this year is to raise $1,000. We will be providing updates on how we are travelling and our favourite footy photos from the week.

Help us make an even bigger difference by supporting our Footy Colours Day event.

Free Sun Smart App

UV radiation is dangerous because it’s not like the sun’s light which we see, or the sun’s heat, which we feel, so it can be damaging our skin without us knowing.

Our free SunSmart app takes away the guesswork by telling you when the UV is 3 and above with sun protection recommended for your location.

It uses forecast information from the Bureau of Meteorology (BOM) and live UV data from the Australian Radiation Protection and Nuclear Safety Agency (ARPANSA) to provide sun protection times for more than 600 locations across Australia.

Skin Checks

Even though the weather outside is colder, your skin can still be absorbing the ultraviolet rays. It is necessary to wear sunscreen at all times when you are outdoors, regardless of the time of the year. You will be protecting yourself from sunburn and skin cancer by wearing sunscreen.

Remember to check your skin regularly, ask a friend or partner to help you check those tricky areas like your back and book regular a full skin examination with one of our wonderful doctor’s here at the Ballarat Surgicentre.

Phone 53030190  to book your skin check, and one of our friendly reception staff will be able to assist.

Consumer Feedback Month

May is Consumer Feeback Month at Ballarat Surgicentre incorporating the Ballarat Skin Cancer Centre.

We ask our patients to complete our feedback form as part of their discharge and ask that they return it to us to provide feedback on their experience throughout their visit. We then use this information to improve the processes with particular focus on the safety and comfort aspects of their admission.

We also welcome any feedback from our patients at any time to ensure we are running our day hospital to the highest standards and your visit runs smoothly.
